Ready to embrace the cold? The snowy season is just around the corner, so you might as well enjoy it. Join us at Juthbacka this winter for a refreshing dip in the river and a warming sauna session! This beloved tradition kicks off on Sunday, November 9, 2025, and runs until March 29, 2026 – or when winter says goodbye! The sauna will be heated every Sunday from 15:00 to 19:00.
Changing rooms, showers and sauna are available at the Service House by the river.
Voluntary fee – your support keeps the tradition alive!

Hikingtrails in Pietarsaari region 🥾
🍂 Pietarsaari
The Fäboda hiking trail was created in 1981. The trail covers an area from Torpet near the racecourse to Pörkenäs and Svedja in the south. The main starting point of the trail is the Torsviken parkinglot and the trail goes clockwise via Lussilundsvägen, Mjölkvägen, Mässträsket, Degernästräsket, Långsjön, Svedja, Pörkenäs, Storsand and Lillsand and then returns to the racecourse via Skalottmossen and Dalpottberget.
🍂 Pedersöre
The nature in Pedersöre invites to a rich outdoor life. Beautiful hiking trails invite you to get as close to nature as possible. There are a total of eight hiking trails maintained by both the municipality and various associations. The length of the trails varies from 2-51 km, so there are trails for both day trips and multi-day trips with overnight stays.
🍂 Kruunupyy
There are six hiking trails in the municipality. The lengths of the trails vary from a couple of kilometers to over 20 kilometers. Along the trails, there are resting spots where you can make a campfire, as well as lean-tos.
The Alaveteli hiking trail, The Höbäck-Sarjärv hiking trail, The Gustavsrundan hiking trail,
The Kortjärv hiking trail, The hiking trail to Huhta-Otto’s Cave and The Merjärvi hiking trail.
🍂 Luoto
There are several options for hiking trails in Luoto:
• Luoto Trail, 44 km
• Holm Hiking Trail, 8 km or 13 km
• Eugmo Hiking Trail, 9 km or 12 km
• Bosund Hiking Trail, 9 km
There are shorter children’s trails along the three trails. The children’s trails are about 750-1000 meters long, withinteresting information boards and fun activities.
🍂 Uusikaarlepyy
The city of Uusikaarlepyy has several different hiking trails both around the city center and in the surrounding villages. You can choose to start from eight different locations and there are routes between three and ten kilometres to choose from. Several of the trails have picnic areas with barbecue facilities
